Chapter 2 Introduction

Chapter Introduction

Chapter two builds upon Chapter one by introducing the reader to several population health aspects that are essential to optimize population health.  An exploration of cultural humility and implicit bias provides a foundation for understanding of some of the complexities of population health management.  Further understanding concepts of Adverse Childhood Experiences and the impact of Trauma Informed Care provides advance practice nurses with a framework to approach interactions with populations in any setting.

Concepts in this chapter align with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Core Competencies for Nursing Education (AACN, 2021) as outlined in Table 2.1
