This book addresses fundamental topics pertaining to the design and implementation of appropriate special education services for students with exceptionalities, particularly students who are characterized as exhibiting mild disabilities. In the first several chapters, the legal basis for special education services is explained and definitions for key vocabulary are presented. Next, tiered intervention frameworks are explained, followed by an in-depth discussion of the general least restrictive environment requirement and the continuum of alternative placements. Finally, the second half of the book centers on the presentation of effective and efficient instruction. Emphasis is placed on the use of an explicit instruction approach to teach mathematics, reading, and writing. Supplemental information about proper classroom management and behavior modification is presented at the end of the book.

Contemporary mass media storytelling is an immense undertaking, but one well within the capabilities of anyone with enough gumption to try and the know-how to produce great content. This text takes the reader through various Biblical stories and examines the four elements of management (planning, organizing, directing, and controlling) as they can be found in such examples as The Garen of Eden, Noah’s Ark, the Tower of Babel, and a large number of other similar examples. The text examines managerial activity because some current managers and leaders will not put themselves in the same league as famous Biblical leaders (think Jesus, Moses, Abraham, King David, etc..) and might be intimidated by books focusing on such leaders. However, the same reader might relate to a Biblical story they have known since their childhood and when examined in light of management theory can derive insight to be a better manager today.

The book is organized around several prominent story groups, including various genres and forms, meant to promote discussion and discovery leading to students’ understanding that these texts function as cultural sculptors of readers’ principles and behaviors. Students develop the skill of analyzing texts and creating sound arguments about them through class discussions and a series of writing assignments.
